The quality of the air we breathe indoors has become an increasingly important environmental concern. The following are facts that have been determined by recognized authorities in the fields of health and air quality.

FACT: An inefficient dryer uses more energy, costing you more money.

FACT: The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission estimates that in 1998, clothes dryers were associated with 15,600 fires, which resulted in 20 deaths and 370 injuries. Fires can occur when lint builds up in the dryer or in the exhaust duct. Lint can block the flow of air, cause excessive heat build-up, and result in a fire in some dryers.

FACT: The levels of some hazardous pollutants in indoor air have been found to be up to 70 times greater than outdoors air. (USEPA).

FACT: Most people spend 60% to 90% of their time indoors. (AMERICAN LUNG ASSOCIATION).

FACT: One out of six people who suffer from allergies do so because of the direct relationship to fungi and bacteria in air duct systems. (TOTAL HEALTH AND BETTER HEALTH MAGAZINES).

FACT: Respiratory irritants can circulate within the ducts and enter a room through the registers. (ALA HEALTH HOUSE).

FACT: Children and the elderly are especially affected by polluted indoor air. (DEPARTMENT OF CONSUMER AFFAIRS).
